About the Event
Teens will delve into the long-form style of comedy improv. Long-form calls on improvisers to use only one suggestion from the audience in order to build a series of thematically related (or sometimes totally non sequitur) comedic scenes. We will explore a variety of long-form formats such as the Harold (typically used at Improv Olympics and Upright Citizens Brigade), the Armando, and Free-Form. We will learn a variety of ways to open a long- form montage and different wipes and edits, all while reinforcing the basic skills that make a scene compelling and hopefully funny. A showcase will be recorded on the final day to share with family and friends.
